Calcutta Football League: Champions East Bengal received defeat against Peerless SC

The reigning champions East Bengal was handed a crucial defeat by spirited Peerless SC in the ongoing CFL Premier Division League on Thursday evening at East Bengal Ground.

Peerless hit the target early in the 6th minute through Kormah on Nabi´s left-wing cross.

Looking for equalizer East Bengal gathered momentum and build up the pressure but could not get past tough looking Peerless defence.

The second half was no difference either as Red and Gold brigade continued to struggle for the come back until Aidara netted the equalizer in the 71st minute.

East Bengal received the blow six minute later when Nurudin sent a brilliant cross to Narahari Shreshtra who sent his shot past East Bengal custodian to make the score 2-1 for. Peerless SC.

2018 Shillong Premier League: Sawmer 1-0 Meghalaya Police. Sawmer secured a narrow 1-0 win over Meghalaya Police in the ongoing Shillong Premier League 2018 at the SSA Stadium on Monday evening. After a four straight draw in the second phase of the league crowned expected the end of the resultless progress of the league.  Although deadlock reigned for 99% of the match, and it looked like we would have our fifth straight draw, Gamelial Kharlyngdoh put the ball into the net in the second minute of stoppage time (90+2) to earn Sawmer their first full points in the SPL. The draw takes Sawmer to six points from eight games, but they’re still at the bottom of the seven-team league, tied on points with Nangkiew Irat but behind on head-to-head. MLP stay in fourth place with eight points. Tomorrow Malki will take on Langsning at 5:30 PM.

The three days AIFF Grassroot leaders coach coaching classes organized by West Bengal District Sports Association and SMKP ended today at Kanchenjunga stadium. Overwhelming 100 boys under the age category of 6-12 years participated along with 26 number of coaches from the Siliguri and Jalpaiguri region in the three-day programme. Mr. Sailesh Karkare from AIFF was the key instructor along with SMKP officials.
