Kalimpong Veterans thrashed Namchi Veterans

Kalimpong Veterans has entered into the next round by registering an easy victory in the ongoing Sikkim Veterans Football Tournament 2018 here at Paljor Stadium on Tuesday. Kalimpong Veterans has thrashed Namchi Veterans 5-0 to secure its berth in the next round of the tournament. Nawang Jigmee [18th minute & 20th] and Sonam Bhutia [42nd & 63rd] scored a brace each for Kalimpong Veterans and one more goal was added by Palden Bhutia in the 17th minute.
On Monday, Darjeeling Towns Club and Maneybong-Dentam registered victories in the tournament. In the first match, Darjeeling Towns Club has edged past Namcheybong Veterans by a solitary goal. Bholi Giri scored the victory for a goal for Darjeeling Towns Club in the 24th minute.

In another contesting match, Maneybong Dentam has defeated Pakyong Expendables 3-2. Ganga Ram [7th], Hemant Subba [50th] and Pema Gyaltsen [55th] contributed a goal each in Maneybong-Dentam victor, while Joseph Lepcha scored a brace for Pakyong in the 10th and 20th minute.

The three days AIFF Grassroot leaders coach coaching classes organized by West Bengal District Sports Association and SMKP ended today at Kanchenjunga stadium. Overwhelming 100 boys under the age category of 6-12 years participated along with 26 number of coaches from the Siliguri and Jalpaiguri region in the three-day programme. Mr. Sailesh Karkare from AIFF was the key instructor along with SMKP officials.

2018 Shillong Premier League: Sawmer 1-0 Meghalaya Police. Sawmer secured a narrow 1-0 win over Meghalaya Police in the ongoing Shillong Premier League 2018 at the SSA Stadium on Monday evening. After a four straight draw in the second phase of the league crowned expected the end of the resultless progress of the league.  Although deadlock reigned for 99% of the match, and it looked like we would have our fifth straight draw, Gamelial Kharlyngdoh put the ball into the net in the second minute of stoppage time (90+2) to earn Sawmer their first full points in the SPL.
